Kim Øgendahl Hoppenworth

Senior Technical Advisor, Information Systems

Kim is a pharmacist with over 15 years of experience working in public and private areas of the health sector in more than ten countries. He currently provides expertise to pharmaceutical management information systems across the USAID MTaPS program. Prior to joining MTaPS, Kim was the Senior Technical Advisor on the USAID-funded SIAPS global project. He also worked on the Uganda Health Supply Chain project and with the MedSource Group in Kenya. Under SIAPS, he worked on the rollout of medicines registration software and other pharmaceutical MIS. In Uganda, working with his team of 12 MIS experts, Kim was responsible for the implementation of the national Ministry of Health pharmaceutical information data warehouse and the national scale-up of logistics software in all public and private not-for-profit hospitals. In Kenya, he provided technical assistance on developing the ERP system and provided solutions to establish and automate some of the main business processes for the Group Purchasing Organization. He previously worked on computerizing the Central Medical Stores in South Sudan. His experience also includes working with clinical guidelines, computerizing and automating national-level clinical information, training health workers in pharmaceutical and computer skills, and revising essential medicines lists. Kim has a master of science in pharmacy and is fluent in English and Danish.
