MTaPS at the Joint Learning Network’s Global Meeting

February 5, 2020

MTaPS participated in the Joint Learning Network (JLN) for Universal Health Coverage’s (UHC) global meeting in Manama, Bahrain, December 4–5, 2019, to gauge the interest of JLN member countries for a learning exchange on medicines in UHC. An exploratory session, facilitated by Professor Veronika Wirtz from MTaPS partner Boston University School of Public Health, introduced the topic to 20 participants from 13 countries. JLN members discussed the importance of strengthening pharmaceutical systems to achieving UHC goals and prioritized a topic for the exchange. Given the tremendous interest among country delegates to have pharmaceutical system strengthening (PSS) topics included in the network’s UHC learning agenda, MTaPS is developing a statement of work on medicines pricing strategies that will be submitted to the JLN Steering Group for approval to launch the learning exchange.
