Strengthening the Health Care Priority Setting Process in Indonesia

Health technology assessment (HTA) is a systematic evaluation of health technologies and interventions to inform health care decision making, especially to help health service purchasers determine how to best allocate their limited health care resources. Deficits in program revenue and expected decreases in program funding make Indonesia a prime candidate for applying HTA in healthcare decision making. This brief summarizes the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Medicines, Technologies, and Pharmaceutical Services (MTaPS) Program’s (2018–2024) support to the Indonesia Health Technology Assessment Committee (InaHTAC) in strengthening its HTA infrastructure and processes.
