Systematic Priority Setting and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) in Sub-Saharan Africa – Meeting Report

Published : December 1, 2021

A Roadmap for Systematic Priority Setting and Health Technology Assessment (HTA), co-developed by the USAID Medicines, Technologies, and Pharmaceutical Services (MTaPS) Program and MSH, is a practical guide for policy action in low- and middle-income countries to successfully implement HTA and paves a road for countries to a journey to sustainable universal health coverage and self-reliance. On November 17, MTaPS organized a workshop to raise awareness on the need and practical ways for establishing formal mechanisms for HTA and systematic priority setting in sub-Saharan Africa. The workshop included the tools and steps presented in the HTA Roadmap to help countries operationalize such mechanisms.
