Improving Infection Prevention and Control in Tanzania
Published : April 9, 2024
Since early 2019, USAID MTaPS has supported the Government of Tanzania’s efforts to improve infection prevention and control (IPC). This is critical as infections are a major driver of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The technical brief summarizes MTaPS’ key strategies for an effective and sustainable national IPC program in Tanzania. MTaPS focused on strengthening IPC governance, building institutional capacity to manage IPC, making IPC-related information available and ensuring it is used for decision-making, and improving IPC practices and services at 10 supported hospitals.
